I reckon they look tough. I want a set. But would love to hear if anyone has issues with them......when they get them of course.

YO just announced they're coming out with Rallye's in 17x8 and 17x9 also.    I'm not a big rallye fan but 70 and up folks may like them.

Not a huge fan of Rallye's either, but that is the best 17" interpretation I've seen, and I think they'd look killer on my 72 Road Runner. I don't see myself being able to afford a sent any time soon though. Need to start saving my pennies.

Same as the Magnums, I'd like to know the weight.

funny, i thought the 500's looked so-so, but the rally wheels i love!

Ghoste

I am also someone who was never much on the Rallye wheels but those ones in a 17 inch I think would look so much better than a lot of other big wheels out there and I can easily picture them on your Road Runner Magnum.
But as for so-so on the cast aluminum 500's, I think they look killer in that finish.  I don't see me becoming part of the 17 inch club anytime soon but I really like the appearance of these YO ones.

The finish on the 500s was the selling point for me.     While I kinda like the look of the overly polished billet specialty type 500s on some cars,  it's not what I wanted.

And I think these rallyes will look killer while not being overly blinged out foose rallyes to those that like those wheels.

What tires are you planning on running Brian?

Speaking from experience, there are not a lot of 17-inch tires available capable of harnessing big block torque, particularly in a size that fills the wheel opening. Pretty much limited to a 275-50-17 or 255-50-17, and the pickin's are slim. Lower the suspension and a 40/45 series will look okay too.

Not sure on which tires yet...    slim pickins for all muscle car tires anymore....  15/16/17 whatever.

QuoteThe Mopar cast wheel weights are :

17 x 8 = 26 lbs

17 x 9 = 28 lbs

Thank You

Definitely not light, but not excessive.

A 255-50-17 to put on one of those wheels will weigh 30 lbs. That will give a total weight of 58 lbs.

In comparison, a 15x8 Centerline Telstar weights about 16 lbs, and a 255-50-15 weighs 32 lbs, for a total of 48 lbs. Granted, that's a really light forged wheel. At the other extreme, a 15" rallye will go ~28 lbs with trim ring and cap if I recall correctly. I think a 15" Torq Thrust is right about 20 lbs.

Point being, don't assume they are lightweight just because they are aluminum.

Ummm...   YO sent another card the other week to say they're still working on it?

If I wanted all 17x9's I'd have them already.    Waiting on the 8s.

Meanwhile still looking for tires...   I might have to get shitto 450  275/50/17 for the backs.  :eek2:

I prefer nittos over most brand names out there!

Not alot of choice in the 17" range. I think the NT555 255/50r17 would be a better tire than the NT450 275/50r17 although not as wide and 27" vs 28".

Iron Chef

I ordered a set of 17 X 8's 2 weeks ago.  At the time, the ad said delivery between October 1 and October 22.  Will keep you posted.

Ordered my Magnums yesterday. They said they would be ready on the 20th of this month. 2 x 17x9 and 2 x 17x8. I was pretty impressed; they did them for $185 each and the centre cap set for $140 so I cant complain.

Just spoke to Tyler at YO.

About 250 of the 17x8's are finally arrving Monday... 10/15/12.    So whoever ordered split sets like myself will finally be getting them next week.

Anybody that ordered all 4 17x9's should already have them.

Please let us know what you think of them when you get them. I'm hanging out for some first hand reports of these wheels.
