Weird stuff in Washington State

It's become my opinion (call it stereotyping if you want) that most of the weird stuff on the west coast happens in Washington State. I'm not referring so much to the man-made, purposeful weirdness, like idiot hippies running naked through the streets proclaiming the wisdom of communism. This is more along the lines of spontaneous, naturally occurring weirdness. So, probably to the chagrin of my neighbors to the north, I've decided to start a thread dedicated to the recurring weirdness that seems to take place there so often.

Here's today's weird Washington news: http://www.kgw.com/news/Man-bitten-by-rattlesnake-at-Wash-Wal-Mart-151407715.html

And here's a couple of older ones: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,85521.0.html

Slow day in Oregon? I feel like I'm being baited, but still I will respond to the Honorable Gentleman from the State of Anarchy USA.

Backatcha!

1) Oregon Woman Gets Naked and Climbs into Dead Horse Carcass:

Authorities in Washington County, Ore., said in October that they would not file charges against a very weird 21-year-old woman who had felt compelled, as a tribute to her horse that had just died of old age, to get naked and climb inside the horse's carcass, to "feel one" with it. Her boyfriend recorded the extremely bloody adventure with numerous photographs (many showing her smiling joyously), which made their way onto the Internet and available to any viewers with strong stomachs. Said Deputy Sgt. Dave Thompson: "At some point in your career, you say, yeah, I've seen a lot of bad stuff (and) you see this kind of picture and you realize maybe you haven't seen everything."

Should be interesting to see what happens if her boyfriend passes before her.

2) Oregon Postal Worker Poops on Customers Lawn:

An Oregon postal worker has been suspended without pay after he was literally caught with his pants around his ankles, defecating in one of the yards along his delivery route.

According to KGW News, Portland resident Don Derfler was home baby-sitting his son last week when he spotted the mailman going potty -- as opposed to postal -- across the street by his neighbor's house.

"He started pulling his pants down and started defecating, and at that point I grabbed my camera and started to take pictures," Derfler told MSNBC.

An official with the U.S. Postal Service said it is investigating the mailman's special delivery.

"....grabbed my camera and took pictures". (?!)    Is it the Pooper or Derfler who is the weirdo    :smilielol:

3) Oregon man Trampled by Water Buffalo While Loading Truck:

OREGON CITY, Ore. - A 50-year-old man was flown by Life Flight to the hospital after getting trampled by water buffalo that he was trying to load into a truck.

The incident happened Thursday morning in the 15000 block of South Springwater Road.

According to Steve McAdoo with Clackamas Fire, the man was loading several water buffalo into a truck when two or three of them reversed and trampled his lower body. The animals weigh about 1,200 pounds each.

The man sustained injuries to his legs and was alert and in good humor when paramedics arrived. Still, Life Flight was called in due to the extent of the injuries the the possibility of internal injuries.

Water Buffalo? In Oregon?  Well, at least he thought it was funny   :icon_smile_blackeye:

Now, if you really want to get serious, the mega weirdo factor is 180 degrees in the other direction  :eek2: Wanna gang up on them?

I think California has you beat here. It would be even more ridiculous if it weren't a San Francisco politician (read: an abject moron).

QuoteIt is official: The San Francisco Board of Supervisors backs the idea of the Navy naming a vessel after gay political leader Harvey Milk. But the decision came only after debating the power of symbolism and consulting with a spirit board.

Supervisor John Avalos said he sees the merits of the arguments on both sides of the debate. He and his City Hall aides turned to a Ouija board to ask for Milk's opinion.

We "actually put our hands on the Ouija board and the letters g-o-o-d-r-i-d-d-a-n-c-e-d-a-d-t came out. We asked Harvey, and Harvey gave us these letters: 'Good riddance don't ask, don't tell.' It was quite clear that Harvey Milk would have been opposed to 'don't ask, don't tell.' I can honestly say that's one aspect of this resolution that's really valid."

Avalos joined Wiener and seven other supervisors to support the resolution. Only Olague and Supervisor Jane Kim were opposed.

Having been born in San Francisco I am extremely embarrassed by all the idiocy I see going on.   ::)   Makes one wonder when the golden idols are going to start showing up.

Maybe you ought to change your thread title to

"Weird stuff on the West/Left Coast".  :yesnod:

Using the US military for social experimentation is insane enough but at least the Ouija board bit is phony. Apparently it was a bad joke made by one of the jackass "leaders" in SF: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/cityinsider/detail?entry_id=115549

Half-naked woman dressed in hot pink duct tape attacks 3 cops. In Seattle.

The important question here is, is she hot, and are there any pictures?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

It's just sad, I think, that horse-carcass lady and horse-anal-copulation man couldn't have met and had foals together. :'(
