So my block is toast in my 440...threw a rod.  Anyhow, anyone have experience with those 493" shortblocks Mancini sells?  I'd like to be able to re-use what I can off my current 440...mopar aluminum ported heads, 830cfm Holley, Street Dominator intake, Milodon water pump and oil pan, etc.  Any suggestions?

How did you throw a rod?

Have no idea...let the car warm up...drove out onto the street...drove up a steep street...gassed it a little and boom...block blew out on passenger side.  I didn't build it...perhaps something wasn't done correctly.

Yeah, happened to me also.  Piston pin froze and rod snapped.  Got a 440 Monaco block and swaped my stuff over.  Sorry to hear that.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Mancini sells very good quality stroker kits.

Also in for the carnage pics.

Sorry to hear this terrible news Justen  :icon_smile_blackeye:

Maybe contact the seller and see if there could be some financial restitution ?  :scratchchin:

The Mancini 493 is certainly a viable option  :yesnod:
