was wondering if anyone has a picture or knew the length the tail shaft for a 727 440 swap into my 73 charger..  or does it matter since the drive shaft needs shortened anyways?

......... thanks kim lol, i had the 318/904 and going 440/727 so would it still be 4.04" off the original driveshaft? even though u dont know my tranny length?

From the face of the converter housing to the center of the front u-joint dimension:

727= 38.13"
904= 34.12"

Also, before you shorten your drive shaft and put it all back together, note that the front yoke off your 904 drive shaft will NOT fit a 727. You will need to find a 727 yoke.

Difference between 727 (on left) and 904 slip yokes, both with 7260 U-joint.
