Gentlemen, I'm thinking of switching my 2X4 Max Wedge to a single 4 - barrel setup. I can't seem to get the 2X4 to run right. Rebuilt carbs/ checked everything with engine Comp test/ spark/fuel pressure etc . etc. Everything checks good. Car is a pain in the butt to get running "somewhat" smoothly. I' m thinking a single 4-barrel setup would be better for driveability. Any ideas/ opinions/ advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Artie

the Indy dual plane intake sits low & flows well depending what RPM you want the intake to work for

double check fuel pressure from pump before junking everything
i listened to the "experts" on my sixpak and it was the carter pump that was bad, found out after i sold the sixpak and went to a 4 bbl

Sorry, I installed a regulator and it's getting 5 PSI.  It's funny though, I first set it at 6 PSI and when I checked it after running a bit it was down to 4 PSI. I tried adjusting it up and it didn't want to increase.

After sitting a while I was able to adjust it up to 6 PSI. I'm wondering if the pump is a problem.  Not sure about this. I hate to switch the crossram if I don't have to.

Thanks

If you're loosing fuel pressure that could be the problem....      I worked on a 1966 VIP with a 440 I swapped in...   similar problem - started with 6psi and then dropped down to 3psi after getting warm...     I added a small electric fuel pump back by the tank just to ease the strain on the mechanical pump - never had an issue after that...     :shruggy:
