Did you guys see the other 2 calibers mixed in there?

ACUDANUT

Your right. Add on to my last post.  30 carbine rounds.

AKcharger

Good work all! I suspected people with a military background would pick up on them fast, carbine amo was a wild card but the bandolier kinda spells it out  ;)

Close, but no cigar. The magazine should be a hint, as is the gun in the background that fires this particular round

Can't see the base of the cartridge but the rifle looks like a Mosin.

c00nhunterjoe

54r would have been too easy. The only part of the rifle you need to see is in plain view, and the mag should give it away as well.

AKcharger

Holy smokes you just jump ringt into the uber hard ones don't cha'!  I'm pretty sure that is a mannlicher stripper clip, so I'd go with 8x56 ammo for Austro-hungarian mannlicher or Licensed Mauser varient.

Love to know more about that weapon BTW

Great job! Dead on. Its 8x56r. The rifle is a styr m95, the rounds are nazi stamped as are the clips. I can post other pics in a new thread. Whose next on the round pic? I have plenty more I can post!

heres a few more common ones

AKcharger

Wow, I hope I get a few of these right:
1- .22 Long rifle
2- Tricky...looks like a .223 but I'm going to say a .17
3- 7.62x39 Warsaw pact
4- 30-30
5- guessing at .308
6- .50 cal

They have been too easy so far. Try this one out for size. Be sure to zoom in, that's my son leaning against the round............

Nope. Number 2 is 556.  :nana:

If that's a 5.56 it would fail a military inspection. There is no iris on it.

AKcharger

:scratchchin: you guys are tough, At 1st I was going with the atomic cannon but the base is wrong, that thing ain't mobile (what a monster!) I'm going with a WW-2 16 inch costal defense gun...it's just too big to be anything else

c00nhunterjoe

Man, I'm making it too easy. Great guess, its. 16 inch naval gun used for coastal defense. It was origonally built for a super batleship. The battleship was never built due to weight restrictions so the guns were placed around the states for shore defense.
