I'm going to the car show in Carlisle in July. Looking for a 69  R/T that is in the the same condition as the car that was once owned by Nelson Audet, a member on this forum and someone who has helped me out in the past. I was a day late and a dollar short when he sold his R/T last month. I have never been to the Carlisle show and am going to look for the R/T specifically. My Question is what would be the best day to go and try to purchase, first or last, and what are the odds that I will find the car for sale. my price range is 32,000 to 38,000.  I think the cars at the show will be sold by the owners of the car not a dealer. As always thanks for the help. Hoping to post the picture of my dream car in July

If that is the only reason you are going to Carlisle I say stay home.  I went with money in hand looking for a Charger (my $$ range was up to roughly 24k) but I think over the 2 years I went the corral had maybe 6, 68/9 Chargers for sale. (That didn't include the 500s/Daytonas that were there) I was looking for a car in OEM trim of which I think half were that way. There was the trailer junk and the stuff that I thought was WAY overpriced but nice looking cars none the less.  I got more results from searching the net every day and setting up a notify event on the for sale section of this site.   :Twocents:

You may get lucky though, ya never know.  I suspect that earlier arrival is better.  The earliest I got there was Friday afternoon and would leave Sun morning.

I was thinking the same thing. Moparfest in Ontario is suppose to be the 3rd largest mopar show in north america and I can't recall ever seeing any deals on cars for sale. I think I saw one r/t there in the past 5-10 years.

I would recommend you get there Thursday. All the vultures and flippers will be there snapping up anything they can that is a deal. If you don't find it Thursday, then get there Friday. If you don't find anything in the corral, look in the show field. If you find something you like, talk to the guy and make him an offer. Even if he says no, give him your number and maybe he'll call if he changes his mind.

Stay thru Saturday because some folks don't bring their cars until then. If you haven't found it by that evening, then you won't find it there. Also, check out the swap meet, some guys list their cars for sale in their spaces. You can also talk to some of the restoration shops and ask if any customer's or aquaintances want to sell one. You never know. Leave no stone unturned and ask everyone if they know of one for sale.

Good luck !!

We'll be there in space H188-192 just outside the red display barn. If you get thirsty stop by, we'll have some cold water you're welcome to.

It's also a good idea to buy an Auto Locator at a convenience store. A lot of times peps put their cars in there around Carlisle. Good luck.

So your finally stepping up to a 3rd gen  ;) ;)

As Dixie said you might find a deal on Thursday, if not, Saturday night or Sunday morning is your best shot. If someone really wants to sell their car the last thing they want to do is drag it back home. After 12 noon on Saturday the sellers are a lot more flexable on their price.
And yes, in the swap meet area you'll find vendors that will have a list of cars they have for sale but don't have them at the show

Ol' hotrod doesn't have enough $$ for Chris' ride.  $32k-$38k alone isn't enough to cover the licensing & exclusive rights fees he gets for whoring that car out on advertising websites & entities like Fruit of the Loom for T-shirt sales.

A good idea that you can carry around with yourself would be a refrigerator magnet for checking bondo, & plenty of business cards that mention what you're looking for besides your name, #.  Vistaprint is pretty reasonably priced.

Wow, I guess either the whole experience with the exhaust project sent him over the edge or the drone has finally did something to his mind to make him want to sell.
