dash pads

Does anyone know anywhere where i can get my dash pads restored ? I have tried just dashes but they cannot reproduce the stitch pattern on  these pieces. Any suggestions pleasereply or e mail jsaunier8458@msn.com thanks for any help My car is a 68 charger

Forgot to mention that these are the lower dash pads- a/c car

I just found good used ones and dyed them. Good used OEM parts are still the best alternative in my book when they can be found. I paid $75 for all of my lower pads and they were in perfect shape.

I'd have to agree with finding some nice originals even if you have to dye them.

Good luck finding nice originals.  Even the ones with the best-condition vinyl/foam are starting to pull loose of the sheetmetal backings these days.

I'm ready to forget the stitching, pay Just Dashes, reinstall a set of restored pads that feel a bit too stiff, and not think about it again for another 20 years.

i just feel for the price just dashes wants (approx 800.00 for the upper and lower pads) that is a lot to pay for something that is not proper how are the upper pads that they do, anyone have any experience with those ?

Exactly. For the money they want those parts should be better than perfect and stock accurate. Apparently the lack of competition for Just Dashes makes them think they're justified in charging an arm and a leg for an inferior product.

That sounds like a ripoff.  I need to find a dash pad for my '66, and no one makes them.  I see coronet ones, but it specifically says, NO CHARGER.    A long time ago I saw a good one on ebay, but I don't see any anymore.  Would I have to get someone to restore it in my case?

I know there is another pads restorer. I have seen latelly like another option but don't remember who posted and where.

Yeah, the 'other option' is dashboard restorations USA - I used them on my pad and it's great.. .but mine's a '72, so I have NO idea if they do the stitching everyone's talking about on the '68.    Might try contacting them, maybe they've done '68s and can send you some pics?
