Can anyone tell me what the proper belt length (part number) is for a 1969 440 with Saginaw power steering?  I am currently trying to collect all the pieces needed to build my correct date coded engine back to concours correct.  My car came originally with a Saginaw pump, but this was missing when I bought the car, therefore I have no belt to "measure" for the correct length.  I am assuming the belts for the water pump and the A/C-Alternator are standard (Does anyone know part numbers for these as well).  Does anyone have any thoughts on the Quanta reproduction belts?  Thanks for your help.

If you are actually going to DRIVE your car then a big NO vote from me (and others) on the Quanta repro belts...they are junk & will fly off.  Ask me how I know... :rotz:

Also the 2 A/C comp belts depend on the diameter of the pulley on your comp.
For a 440 car the more common diameter is the 6 1/4"....some did come with the smaller 5 3/8" as well (this pulley is "flush" with the clutch while the larger diameter is not)

6 1/4"---60.5" belt  (Mopar # B0013605)
5 3/8"---60" belt  (Mopar # B0013601)

P/S---44" belt  (Mopar # B0013441)

W/P---36" belt  (Mopar # B0013361)

Unfortunately the Mopar branded V-Belts are long disco'd....If you are interested & run the 5 3/8" A/C comp pulley I have one of the last sets of the 60" belts

Personally right now I am running a Mopar belt for the P/S & W/P

For the A/C comp (6 1/4" pulley)I am running Goodyear Gatorbacks...they are OK but dont sit deep enough into the pulley (larger V-Groove then the Mopar ones)  I might try a set of Gates (7603) this season to see how they fit....

Thanks for responding, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, just got back from the Easter holiday.  Good to know about the Quanta belts, no sense in wasting money on something that doesn't work.   I hate to ask but, when your belts came off did it do any damage, hopefully not.  My diameter for the compressor pulley is 5 3/8".  Is this size of the pulley like "other" items on the car... meaning there is no "right" way, where there several variations, for example, I was told that a Federal power steering pump was correct, but then when I traveled to some Mopar shows almost every 440 with A/C had a Saginaw pump and then other people tell me that if you had the performance axle package that it was supposed to have a cooler as well.  Just when you think you figured it out you see it a different way on another car.  I wonder if I should find a pulley for the compressor that is 6 1/4"?  First, are you sure you would want to part with the belts?  Second, how much would you be asking?

Hope you had a great holiday and thanks again for the valuable information.

No real damage thankfully except some paint off my waterpump and a bit of coolant spilled when she overheated on the highway.  It was the P/S belt that "rolled" off which took out the W/P belt.  Carried a spare set in the trunk just for this purpose.
I too have seen them both ways (A/C pulleys)

Just an update the Gates 7603 belts are a great fit if you are running the larger 6 1/4" pulley.

They are 60 5/8" long (now have plenty of room for adjustment to actually make them tight)  & are narrower than many of the other "listed" Goodyear or other brand belts so they sit further in the groove like the Mopar belts do.

Thanks again for your help with this, by the way, got the belts today, couldn't be happier with them.
