Hey Guys -

Question and best guess - what's the stock HP, torque and top speed of a 383 powered 727 equipped 1970 Charger SE? I know gears play a part, but gimme a ball park here...

Thanks - Mike

That sounds about right, assuming it's all stock and sitting on some decent radial tires. ;D

Is there an "Angry III" in the works?  :shruggy:

What if the pretty girl is a lonely midget........?

I had to ask :smilielol:

Nope, no Angry III (yet) and in regards to, what if the pretty girl is a lonely midget... hmm... honesty, I'm not entirely sure.

I'm doing a comparison video tomorrow of a very highly optioned 1970 Charger SE vs 2012 Charger R/T, complete with road test, driving impressions, etc. The question is, if you could have only one for a daily driver, and both were in perfect working order, and it would be your last car,  which would it be. The 2012 or 1970?

Are you nuts? You couldn't give me one of those 4 doors (although they do make a nice looking police car). 70 all the way, I don't care what it drives like, what it rides like or anything else, I like a good looking car.

The '70...To hell with that half Mercedes, other half Fiat POS 4dr.

70 of course.

The 335hp/425tq is for the 383-4bbl.

If it was a 383-2bbl then it was 290hp/390tq

Would the fuel economy, lack of modern safety equipment and or lack of creature comforts impact this decision at all?

Remember, this would be a daily driver, regardless of weather, job AND it would be your ONLY car.

...AND it would be your ONLY car.

That kind of kills any chance of it being the 2012 Model.  ;)  Give me the '70. It isn't all about comfort.  :yesnod:

I'm not a fan of the late model Charger, but based on your criteria I'd have to go with the 2012 Charger.

My '69 R/T was my daily/only for about five years in the 80's. Bought a truck (a nice one with A/C) because I needed a truck, still preferred to drive the Charger.

Coming from a guy that still lives in NYC I can honestly tell you that if it were to be my daily driver then it would be the '12 hands down......flame suit on but thats the TRUTH :Twocents:

Heck I miss my '08 Daytona  :rotz:

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

It's a tough call right? I've been thinking about it as well and honestly, I'm sure which way I'd go. My daily is an SRT8 Magnum and while I love it and it does everything great, it just doesn't excite me anymore. For me that's a HUGE part of driving as I do A LOT of it. I've got a new Charger R/T as a press car this week and honestly, it doesn't excite me in least... hell, I may as well be driving a Toyota Camry for all I care.

The old stuff though, however finicky, still gets me going. It's going to be an interesting comparo.

If it's a fully loaded 2012 SRT8, I would take the 12. I wasn't a fan of the new 2012 charger until I got to drive one, next thing I new I traded in my 300 for one.

Besides I would still have my 68.

Nope. Not part of the narrative.

Now what do you say?  ;)

My 70 has been my main and mostly only ride for the better part of the 17 years come April of this year I've owned it. It owes me nothing and served me well.  :2thumbs:

Can I have the 70 with the 2012 motor? Id take the 70 either way but the reliability and comfort of the 2012 would be tempting.

Put your emotions aside and think logically. If you had to choose one or the other and no other car was available to you and it was your last, it would have to be the 2012. It has room for the kids/grandkids/friends. Mom and Dad/Grandmom and Grandad can get in and out easily. It gets decent mileage, it is safe by today's standards, you can take long trips comfortably, it has all of today's electronic gadget technology. Or, take logic out of it and choose the 70.

LOL!

It's still a tough call. I mean hell, if we all used logic on a daily basis we'd have no fun at all...
