Anyone seen this yet? "They" say it's real.

I'm at work so I can't link directly to YouTube, but I'll post a link to Jalopnik where you can see the vid:

WOW!!! Someone is getting a ass reaming on that one, That looked like pure showboating in a very expensive piece of machinery!!!! If they did not die I will imagine they wish they had by the time their CO gets done with them!!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Cowboys! If the pilot is career oriented it prolly won't be in an Apache or any other military aircraft. This kinda of stuff gets air wing commanders fired too. To much forward speed, no altitude and the collective is just a stick.
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

Well... it looks real. :shruggy: It looks like he tried to pull it up after the first hard hit and that's when it started spinning. The snow probably softened the blow somewhat but I kind of expected to see more pieces flying off it. Who knows what's real in these videos anymore. Pretty much everything you see now is suspect.

Anybody that ever walks away from a heli crash ought to go buy a lotto ticket immediately because they are that lucky, trying to dodge that engine being ripped out of the airframe and not getting hit by it you are one lucky SOB!

Looks like the pilot was showing off for sure. Looks like a crop duster maneuver like someone mentioned. I'd say they misjudged the amount of lift available at those altitudes.

Some of the comments are funny. Here's something from personal experience:
when I was learning to fly a helicopter the instructor told me to look down between my legs. When I did he said "if anything goes wrong that's where you're going to land". Those guys act like autorotation makes a helicopter glide just like a plane. Not true! I later had the exciting opportunity to make an emergency "dead stick" landing in a plane. I had time to check out the scenery, pick a spot to land, and make a normal approach. In a helicopter I wouldn't have made it 1/2 a mile.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I guess that WO will get a MAJOR ass chewing...        but her - it's better than lighting up civilians or something like that.

I know pilots like pushing the envelope but it was a dumb move.

The apache was a failed attempt at a hammerhead stall. The 1st impact causes excessive stress on the tail boom snapping, most likely, the gearbox for the tail rotor resulting in the uncontrolable spinning.
