getting ready to put the heads on my block.  First of all my does it matter what side of the gasket is up? with mine one side does not match the dowel pins with the same side up.  How can I tel the difference between the driver side head and the passenger side?

the heads & gaskets are reversable , check the threads on the end of the heads , often there is a damaged thread on the front so switch heads so it is at the back
