check the bulbs on your tail lights for corrosion. Mine used to get moistier in side the housing and do it all the time, after I cleaned up the bulb houseing and put in new bulbs it stopped doing it. Check your fuse box for corrision as well.

A pinched wire short in the wiring loom? If the power and return from the brake lights are shorted together (not to chassis) then when you apply the brake pedal and close the switch the circuit will see a direct short rather than flowing through the brake lamps.  Unplug the the lights and pull the fuse from the fuse block, use a multimeter to measure the resistance (ohms) across the supply and return at the lamps. You should see an open circuit or infinite resistance.

I think i got that right...

new bulbs..... and say u have a 20amp fuse.. put in a 25 or 30 amp.. fixed the problem with my car!   :2thumbs:

You probably got a crappy new Chinese bulb that's screwing things up. Same thing happened to me on my Durango a while back. What caused it was that I finally got around to replacing my burned out license plate light and then a week or so later it started popping tail/dash light fuses like crazy. Couldn't figure it out and finally had to have a shop look at it. It took them quite a while to figure it out because you couldn't see anything wrong with the bulb and it lit up fine when the circuit was cool. They had to start pulling bulbs out one at a time with a meter to figure it out.

pulled all 4 bulbs still blows the fuse...think it could be the breaklight switch ? inturnal short ??? i dont know ! i hate elect probs  :brickwall:

yes, definitelly check the brake pedal switch... it can be worn causing a short.

you can try bypass the pedal switch... unplugg both wires ( white and pink ) and jump them... if doesn't blow, then you found it!

if still blows, the the problem could be very well the turning switch inside the column.

to confirm this, feed from the pink wire at pedal switch the two dark wires on turning switch plug ( the plug of underdash harness )... dark green and dark brown... those are rear left and right lights... is still blows, then is not the turning switch

pedal brake brakets. Track two wires, one pink, one white, and will find it.

more less like this ( Bracket changes a little bit depending on model and year ):
