I have manual steering on my '69 R/T. I have F70x14 Firestone reproduction tires on the car at this time. If I  to radials on the car, would the steering effort (at lower speeds) get harder, easier or stay unchanged?
What tire size do most members use in the front with manual steering?

I haven't had a manual steering car for years and can't answer your tire size question but. Are you concerned the effort to turn the wheels is too hard. Changing the caster adjustment can help with low speed steering effort. I haven't looked at alignment specs for years but there use to be different specs for power steering cars and manual cars.

Yes, the steering effort seems a little high. I am planning on getting the front end aligned in the spring. I am also concerned what the effect of putting radials on would be on steering effort.

radials will steer easier than bias tires
235/60/15 is a common tire for the front

myk

And here I thought most people preferred the feeling of manual steering?  Because...there actually IS feeling?
