The headers will give it a totally different sound. Mufflers will make it louder, long tube headers make it angry..... if that makes sense

New to the muscle car/mopar addiction so bare with the "dumb" things I'm likely to ask all of you. Just trying to learn and gotta start somewhere! Cheers!

Totaly different sound on very similar engines. My cam is a littlebigger then his. The headers make a huge difference in sound.

So how is the ultraflow install coming? Will you have before and after videos?

Cam sounds pretty good. Idle speed sounds a little low but maybe its just the camera. The hemi mufflers are louderthen I thought they would be. I anxiously await the update

Got the mufflers put on today.

UltraFlo's sound great!!  Definitely a deeper, more aggressive tone

BUT......got me a nice drone back  :rotz:   not too happy about that.   Drones right around cruise RPM 1800-2200 rpm  :pity:

Maybe it is just me but I think it sounded better at idle with the hemi mufflers.  Although when you gave it gas, it sounded better with the Dynomax mufflers.

Its right on for the dizzy I am running.....Don @ FBO recurved it to use manifold vacuum instead of ported vacuum....I wonder if that would have something to do with it???  :scratchchin:

Definitely sounds quieter at idle, more powerful and RPM I like it!!!!
Need another sound bite to be sure though, please POWERBRAKE in your driveway!!!  Ron :flame:

Just 6T9 CHGR

Not really "quieter" but "deeper"....doesnt have that "exhaust leak" type of a sound anymore @ idle....

PS---no powerbraking on my new concrete!!  :slap:

I had the same problem, sounds crazy but I put resonators on which did get rid of the drone but killed off a bit the idle note so then I put the R/T tips on and the drone is piercing, take the tips off and the drone is gone.
Mines does it in the same rpm as yours.

http://www.jegs.com/p/Dynomax/Dynomax-VT-Mufflers/1316158/10002/-1      Has anybody tried these? They are advertised as a "drone free performance muffler". Kinda weird looking insides. Also on sale at advance auto for $15 off. BTW all Dynomaxs are $10 off including Thrush if anybody is shoppin....

Thats what Im hoping I DONT have to do to use these mufflers :rotz:

Still wondering if the fact that I use manifold vacuum at my distributor as opposed to the stock ported vacuum has anything to do with it
