Hey.Yes Im in Canada.Ive onwed numerous high dollar mopars.I just picked up a 74 se Charger triple black with multy color reflective stripe.Still original paint and decal.Its is sittin in a farmers back yard soon to be brought home.Its a local car...dealer emblem still showing on trunk.Matching #s 400-4bbl,buckets-console,power widows,air,tinted glass,2 fender tags.Im sure ill find the build sheets.Has usual rust..but not too bad.Its a time machine...for sure.Would this se be considered rare?in the 74 charger world.The 3x black with the reflective stripe is quite awesome.I presently show/drive a 71 cuda.thanks anyone.yes i could post some pics of its resting place.DUE TO SMALL DOWNLOAD SIZe ON THIS SITE YOU CAN E-MAIL collinjv@shaw.ca if you really would like to see more pictures.thanks,Collin.

Would love to see photos. It's certainly a very desirable car, however its desirability compared to 69-70 or even 71 cars is certainly much less broad.

Yeah, It's an oddball combo, but not the only one out there with black paint and the V6R stripes. P code 400? I've got V6K (copper) and V6Y (gold) striped cars, still looking for the right car with V6R (red) stripes. A 440 or a 4 speed would be ideal :D

The stripe isn't original to that car as SE's weren't available with Rallye stripes.  The stripe can be had as a reproduction, I believe.  As far as the value of the car, it's hard to say without better pictures.  Someone else (Nacho?) may have production numbers for '74.

I believe you could get that stripe on a SE if you special ordered it. Or it could of been Dealer installed too. But either way, it has been on that car a long long time.

The stripe was available on the SE's. I have seen an original '74 SE with the code on the fender tag.

Real nice Charger, I had a 73 SE with factory sunroof...those look great in black, looks like little to no rust, and it is a big block too,with lots of options. What's not to like? How about more pics!?
Good luck and keep posting updates :cheers:

I'm not sure if you could get Rallye stripes on anything but a Rallye in 73, but the "gradated" stripes were optional on all charger models in 1974. I think the V6X (black) stripes were only available on Rallye cars as well in 74...anyone have fender tags that say otherwise???

Here is some stripe info from the 74 color & trim book. This info and more can be found here;

Gradated rallye stripes were an option on SEs just on 74s... dunno anything about production numbers.

Just wondering if the center console is original as it has a 1970 type shifter and the console itself seems to be leaning towards the driver's side.   Just throwing that out for thought.....The car looks like a really nice project for someone.   If the price is right, I'd go for it.

some 74s got the round shifter handle. I think lates. Theorically all should got it, but I have seen T's on most of 74s I have seen on the web. Mine is one of them, but could be an exception since was assemblied in Vzla

Nacho is right, the 74s should have the ball type shifter, I'm sure a few 74s got the T handle until they were all used up. I have yet to come across a 74 with a T handle myself. My 74 had the ball style and it had a scheduled production date of December 07, 1973 at Lynch Road.
