Hello guys I spent this Sunday. Removing the paint from  the edges and for the frame rails of my new one piece floor pan for my 68 charger to be welded in. I know the rear footwell pans over lap and get welded but do I need to trim anything off to connect the full pan to the footwell or is there a overlap,if so could someone post a pic on how it supposed to be thx!

If your are using the AMD pan, no trimming is required. The front lip of the new pan should get clamped and welded to the lip on the bottom of the firewall, and then welded to the frame sections, on the tops of the rockers, and in the back to the rear footwell pans. I just did this to my car, and it fit pretty well. I used alot of vise grips and sheet metal screws to lign it up. After I had the pan clamped in place, I went under the car and marked the new pan with spray paint so I could see where the frame sections were, then I removed the pan and drilled all my holes for the welds. Then I reinstalled the pan and started welding at the firewall, then worked my way back. The only "problem" i had was the contour of the pan where it sits on the crossmember framing was quite right, and I did have to massage it with a hammer and a block of wood to get it tight against the frame to weld it. Make sure you're happy with the fit before you start welding, take your time, and you shouldn't have a problem. You can see all the welds in these picts...
