Ok...I have stick shift fever thanks to "oldcarnut" and his gift.....I was looking through the old topics about switching....  My car is now a automatic on the console but doing a 4 speed without a console and a pistol grip shifter is cool with me...like the look of it (if someone has a pic please post)....I know Keslier makes a complete kit but right now I will have to save to get that one!!  anyone ever use anything other than a 68-70 b body to do the switch?  I saw this in one of the topics.....

"Everything you need for an 833 swap can be yanked from a truck. Pedals, Z bar, adjuster rod, fork, and even the 833 itself. They usually are not hard to find in mid 80's  1/2 tons. Your only issue will be buying an B series bell, if you have a big block engine.  The sheet metal ball stud mount on the engine box wall can be fabbed in about 15 minutes out of 16ga. sheet metal. I also shortened the pedal levers on my pedal set by an inch, because it makes more room for my feet. But, that is up to you."

Forgot to add my car is a 383 if that matters :shruggy:

Anything sourced from a late 80's Dodge truck/Van will be an OVERDRIVE 833. Ok if you like a weaker trans with WIDE ratios..Kinda like driving a dump truck with a "granny" gear.

There's an Italian guy up North that gets $3500.00 for everything in "Kit" form..

I got a couple B-body 833's, 11" bellhousing and Flywheel, Got the shifter and rods, no handle, Might even have the pedals too.

You can definitely piece together a swap for way less than $3500 -
