What to use for caulking below the dutchman panel?

I noticed before removing my old Dutchman panel that there was some white caulking on the top edges of the lower plenum? I am assuming I should put some kind of caulking/sealer on like the factory did but not sure what to use. I am concerned that if I use the wrong product that there may be some problems.

Most likely they used the same type of stuff they used everywhere else inside the car to seal the seams. What you want is a permanently flexible adhesive sealant, which can be found at any number of places. Just about any chemical manufacturer will make something that fits the bill: 3M has some stuff, Sikaflex, Dap, Red Devil, Permatex, ProLine, etc. I have a tube of Lord Fusor 800 EZ I'm getting ready to use.
