What could be wrong - Heater/Defrost

Okay, he's my situation and what I did:

My Heater/Defroster sucks...

I've been fooling around with my car because my heater and defroster wasn't working properly.  I replaced the old heater valve with a new one, it's working properly.  I then replaced the thermostat in the water-housing.  Turns out there was no thermostat there.  Glad I put that in.  I even went as far as to get me a new control unit since one of the little tubes that the vacuum line connected to broke off...  So I should be good to go - but I'm wrong.

I get heat, and I think my defroster is working, but for some reason, all of it seems to be going to the bottom of my ducts.  I barely get any coming from the middle vents and top vents.  Now, in order for my Defroster to actually work, I need it coming out of my top vents.  I can't figure out what the problem is.  Is there some sort of door that isn't opening?  I hear a sound sometimes (not all the times) when I move the switch from heat to defrost... I'm plain out lost on what to do...

I suspect you are right probably a door or solinoid is not owrking , so you would have to drop the heater box & go through it

So do you think it is the Heater-Defroster Door Crank Arm that isn't working properly?  (See attached Image)

I'm not sure, but that is vacuum operated right?  It plugins into a round silver thing?  I want to be sure what I am going to have to do before I tear out the ducts :)

That's not the right diagram.. I'll try to search on web

I might have it, I have a CD Manual for 73 Models, including Charger.  I just need to know which model car is similiar to Charger in terms of the heating system.  I thought it would be the Cornet, which is the above diagram.

Doing some more tinkering around with it today, its either one of two things:  Bad Actuator Valve, or the vacuum hoses are connected wrong.  Does a hose diagram exist to see what I did wrong?  I probably hooked them on wrong when I took my dash frame out.
