Is it too soon to see this guy's face again?

"That thing gotta Hemi?" goes the line that (sort of) launched the career of Jon Reep. I felt like revisiting these Ram Hemi commercials again tonight; sort of reminiscing a little I guess, and found out that this guy is apparently a touring comedian. Anybody seen or heard from him beyond the Dodge TV ads?

I've heard him on Sirius radio, Blue Collar Comedy. When he started out he sucked really bad but now that he's been at it a while he's up to "don't bother buying any tickets just yet".

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

He was on Bob and Tom a year or two ago.  I do not remember him being all that funny.

Those commercials will most likely be the highlight of his illustrious career.

He was on Last Comic Standing (contest reality show for comedians) a while back. Not sure if the show even airs anymore.
I think he made it about halfway thru the show before he was voted off. I hear him on Blue Collar as well from time to time.

John Reep is a decent comedian with a down to earth demeanor. I'd pay to see him.
WHO is Bob and Tom? Some gay porn actors? No wonder I have never heard of them.

My wife loved those commercials.

Once we finished her Valiant ragtop, this was the plate she picked....

Bob and Tom are from the Bob and Tom syndicated radio morning show.  You can check them out on there web site and see what stations carry them.  They are pretty funny and do some stand up as well.  Not sure if they do any gay porn.  Check your collection and let me know if you see them :nana:

He's pretty funny and actually won that Last Comic Standing show back in 2007. I was watching that night and below is the story.

Jon Reep wins Last Comic Standing 5
Last Comic Standing 5 »
by Andy Dehnart / September 20, 2007, 10:35 AM

Jon Reep won Last Comic Standing 5 last night, taking home the show's new $250,000 cash prize, an NBC talent contract, and a half-hour special on Bravo. While the show auditioned internationally for the first time, its winner is from North Carolina, and runner-up Lavell Crawford is from Missouri.

The top five comics—Jon, Lavell, Gerry Dee, Ralph Harris, and Amy Schumer—will go on tour this fall, starting at Connecticut's Mohegan Sun casino tomorrow night and concluding in Ohio in late December.

Jon "has appeared on ABC's 'Rodney,' CBS's 'Star Search,' NBC's 'Late Friday' and has filmed his own half-hour 'Comedy Central Presents,'" and "is a pitchman on several commercials, including Dodge Hemi, where he appears as the lovable redneck who utters the famous line, 'That thing gotta Hemi?'" The Republican reports. Why did he do the show? "The show never said it was just for amateurs, it's a showcase for all comics, and those who have been doing comedy for 20 years and are very funny deserve a chance to be on the show just as much as those who have been doing comedy for only a year or two. You can't beat the amount of exposure the show offers you as a comedian," he said.

The two-hour finale was a padded, fluff-filled affair, and Jay Black reviews it for TV Squad, asking questions that NBC execs might have asked, such as, "Why was the USC Marching Band there?" and "Why did we need to talk to the parents? Was there a chance that any of them wouldn't be proud?"
