Hi!
I guess this question have been asked many times here but couldt find just the right answers.

But i want to put a new 60 amp alternator in my 60 440 ac car

I have the reproduction original regulator on the firewall, does it give to much amp for this regulator or anything else?

Voltage regulators only maintain voltage, they don't sense amperage.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

The parts book does show a different regulator for the 60 amp alternator...was it a dual field in 69 on the big cars maybe?

bobfist

Is there a single field terminal to connect on the back of the alternator or two?

The different regulator was for use with the Leece-Neville alternator which was the only 60-amp unit available then. The Chrysler made 60-amp alternators will work with the same regulators as the lower amp models.
