What color did you paint your Charger and why?

Brass

When I bought mine, it was with the intention of painting it "obligatory" black.  :icon_smile_wink:  Since then however, I've become very fond of the turbine metallic bronze.  It may yet be blackened out someday - but for now I really like it.  Especially in the sun.

68blue

KBC05 Cobalt Blue with pearl white top and interior. After doing a lot of looking this just seemed to be the best fit.

Surf Charger

So many good looking colors. I'm still contemplating on what to paint mine. It was originally B3 Ice Blue from what I understand. However looking at some parts inside the trunk area...it seems to be a really light metallic blue. I'm tempted to put it back to the original color, however I have had a lot of compliments on the dark royal blue color. I love black. I love the mopar orange. Love the dark green. But now I'm seeing colors that never crossed my mind.

One aspect of the Charger that I really like is the flat black section around the taillights. I feel that this along with the front grill really make the charger stand out. I feel like having the charger all black kind of takes away from the flat black back taillight area.... doesn't seem to pop as much as it would say if there were a color around the flat black.

B3 is an underrated color, in my opinion.  You don't see many, and it really stands out.  In a good way.

Patronus

I went black, because it's the most difficult.

Is that due to darker colors bringing out imperfections more? Dont' get me wrong, black looks freakin awesome. Its pretty much the color that you can't go wrong with...everyone loves looking at a blacked out Charger.

I don't care what is is designed to do,I want to know what it can do.

I've heard the term "just another green Charger" but I have gotten allot of compliments on the color.
I stuck with the factory color because it is how it came and goes well with the green interior. Also at night
it is misleading and looks almost black.

R6red4spd69RT

I went with R6 red, black vinyl top and white stripe because not only did the fender tag call for it, I really liked it. In the day R4 red was preferred (going by the numbers), but I like the R6 much more.

As stated earlier, in direct sun it is a very bright red but then in shade it's a very blood red, then in artificial light it's a very scorch red. If you look at my avatar pic you can see it's a blood red because that day was overcast.

69 OUR/TEA

Followed the fender tag, always wanted a real black one, found and bought it,then decided I did'nt want two Chargers so I sold this one.

ray, love that yellow  :2thumbs:

Always planned on doing a deep metallic red even before I had bought my '69 but as soon as I saw the new GoMango (tangerine pearlcoat) on the '06 "Charger" I knew that's what I was going to go with and have not looked back since   :punkrocka:

Hey baullz, I actually like the colour beter on your 69 than on the 06.  :Twocents:  I think the shape (style) of the car has something to do with it.

Oh ya I will definetly agree with you there, the lines on the '69 really make that color dance in the sun.

Surf Charger

It really is too bad that the new style Charger looks absolutely NOTHING like the old Charger. I thought they did a good job with the Challenger....but Dodge hacked the remake of the Charger. Bummer. Those colors look awesome though!

You commented on B3.  This is my Coworker's 68 Charger in UU1 that I restored for him, which for all intents and purposes, became B3 in 69.  In a sea of the oh so common red Chargers, this car stood out and garnered a lot of compliments.  It's a sharp color for sure. :2thumbs:

I was looking at the Mopar 11 Charger in the dealer's showroom yesterday. I don't care for the black with black wheels, but I love the shade of blue that they used for the stripes. I painted my little Shelby Charger the original color as it was a limited edition scheme.

Man that looks so good. That is the original color of my charger. I was tempted to paint it back the original color and this picture really sways my vote.....that looks really sharp.

1970 Yellow.....lemon twist I think...or top banana...
There was a yellow '70 Super Bee with the black C stripe in High School that ruled.,,,I was in love with that car....
Hence my Charger's paint....

Jake

Y4 Gold Poly because that is the original color,. I was on the fence.  Even did a Poll on this board. Could not be happier now. Almost went General Lee Orange just to piss off the purists on this board who give people crap about doing what they want with their own car when not asked. Y4 is a great when toned down with the black vinyl roof and the R/T Stripe, set off with some chrome. Just got the stripe on this past weekend.

I think this thread needs another black Charger.  I went with black for the same reason as Patronus.  It sure did take a lot of extra time to get the body straight enough for black.  Black is a great color but it sure does show every dust speck and swirl mark.  Tough keeping the car clean but worth it when you see heads turn to look at it.

chargermike

mine is painted sublime green. painted it that color because i allways loved 70 chargers in sublime with a black tail stripe. it was a B5 blue factory. but i built my dream car. and ever since i seen dirty mary crazy larry when i was a little kid it was sublime for me. loved that 69. but love the 70 the best.
