most fuel fittings are the flare type , so no thread tape or sealer is going to make any difference as it does not rely on the threads to seal , some fittings into the carb use a thin gasket to seal & a small amount of sealer May help , you do not want to get tape inside the carb plugging small holes inside !

used it since I can remember. no problems ever have I seen where the teflon tape (white) got eaten by fuel. to each his own I guess.

I tried teflon tape. The fuel consumed it in seconds. Then I tried blue locktite. It worked perfectly.
