In doing some searches in Google, I just saw a for sale ad of a XP29H8G car and the owner states there were only 5 cars with this VIN that was a 4 Speed car :o - does anyone know of this?   My car also has air from the factory :2thumbs:.   If my car is this rare, I really feel bad that I didn't restore it to original condition. :brickwall:

Just noticed I put this in the wrong section.  SORRY MODS.

I would question the owner's source of data. If he's saying 383, 4-speed AND A/C I could believe only 5 but 383/4-speed only I'd doubt it.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

What John said. The conventional wisdom is that there were 259 383 4-bbl (XP29H8) 4-speed and 74 383 2-bbl (XP29G8) 4-speeds built in 1968. And qty (5) 4-bbls with A/C sounds correct.

Dan, someone on Moparts has fender tag information for 3 68's that have this combo.  I would guess that there were a decent amount that had this combo.

Rare for sure, but as most of you know the only way to get 4spd w/ AC was on a non-RT (based) cars.  I will avoid stating a production number in my thoughts but not that common.  Back in the late 1990s I had a B5ext,B7int, white top 383H w/4spd went up to the Ohio, lakes somewhere......... I doubt it was one of five.

:nana: rare enough to save in my opinion. :popcrn:

Could you post a link to the car you found on google? Is it the one in Detroit that the owner wants 35k for?
