Hello everyone,

New member from down under here.

I have got two mopars;
1970 RT 440 challenger that is under restoration in my shed.
1973 Charger that will be my driver/cruiser when I get it on the road. Its got a 400 matching #'s engine with 2 barrel carb on it.

I tried to put up some pics but they were all too big.
Can anyone recommend a free downloadable program to shrink pictures?

Cheers
Dan

Welcome to the forum Mate.  I'm in Victoria, where are you at?

There are many ways to downsize your pics but one of the easiest ways is to email them to yourself first. That way they are the correct size everytime.
 Fred

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Hello Dan and welcome.

If you have a Windows based computer you should also already have Microsoft Office software. Just open the pic in Office (with a right click)(not the Windows Picture program, or media program, or the photo prgram, just plain MS Office) and it's easy to edit and resize. Paint and Photoscape work real well also.

If you're a show guy it's always great to see pics of Mopars from down under. You can't post too many of yours, your friends', and everyones' on the continent.

Dan.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome and for the tips on down sizing the pics. Hey Fred I am in Vic also, East Gippsland. Where abouts are you?
This is a bit of a test run for the picture shrinking and attaching. If it works you should see my 2 kids hanging out the window of the Charger!
I am not a huge show guy but I do go to the odd one here and there.
The Charger is no where near show quality. I don't think it has had any major work in it's life other than someone has done a cheap re-spray at some stage. They didn't even bother taking out the car park dints! The only rust that I can find is under the battery tray on the inner guard. Acid or corrosion over the years from the battery I guess. I haven't owned it for very long and have got a bit of mechanical work to do on it before its on the road.
It came with a stack of documentation when I brought it including the dealer warranty paperwork, original Texas 1973 Title, purchase order/options sheet, Broadcast sheet, service documentation from new to about 48,000 miles (got 50k on the clock now. Not sure if this is correct but most things suggest that it is roughly right) and other dealer broaches etc.
I will post some more pics if this one works ok.

Dan, I'm in the Dandenong Hills.
Car looks great. I always did like the red with black vinyl top. I'm always out cruising about in mine so maybe we'll pass each other on the road one day.

I will look out for if I am down that way Fred.

Here is a link (hope it works) to a thread on my Challenger rebuild for anyone that is interested. I have stalled a bit on it in the last month. So busy leading up to Christmas plus my shed needs a good tidy up....I can hardly move in it at the moment. I will fire up on the Chally in the new year, hopfully get some color on it.

Checked out the challenger Dan. That will keep you busy for a while. But it will be a nice car when it's finished.   :2thumbs:

I thought it looked a bit redneck in this picture with it up on blocks in front of my old shed. Unfortunately I can only fit one car in my workshop at a time. As you can see from the other pic the Challenger is not going anywhere soon.

I have done/am doing the brakes, ball joint rubbers, fixing the horn, wipers (linkage missing), oil leak on diff and rust hole under the battery tray. Got most of it sorted just waiting on brake pads and cylinders and wiper linkage bushes. Goes back for its final inspection on Thursday morning. If all goes well it will be registered on Friday :icon_smile_big: Cant wait to have this baby on the road.

redgum78

Some of the rust repair under the battery tray.

The previous owner had sprayed it with rust kill so it hadn't spread too much. I think it was only caused by battery acid leakage. It was the only bit of rust I have seen on the intire car.
The Road worthy inspector couldn't find any other rust either but he wouldn't pass it until this bit was repaired.

Fred

Hope all goes well.................I'll kep my fingers crossed for you  :2thumbs:

Hey Laxy, I have been to the Wimmera distract a couple of times when I was a kid. Nice country from what I remember. Your not there now?

I am supprised how many USA Charger owners there are in Victoria! In my local area there are only a couple of dozen US cars and none of them are Mopars :rotz:

I was driving the Charger home today from its final roadworthy inspection and got pulled over by the highway patrol.... No plates on the car as yet. I had a unregistered vehicle permit but I still sh*t thinking they would find something to book me for! Turns out they were really cool guys and just wanted to check out the car. Had a good old chat to them then we went on our ways.  :2thumbs:
