What trans do you have?

68RED4SPEED

Yes The Dana is 1.12" longer from c/c axle so the driveshaft has to be same 1.12" shorter.

billssuperbird

440 4 speed :2thumbs: and the 68 is a 440 4 speed

You may be ok....maybe measure the center to center of the drive shaft length (at c/line of u-joint) and also how much of the slide in yoke (at the trans) is showing.

Are you talking about the width of the Dana? That wont have any bearing on the d/shaft length.

BrianShaughnessy

The U joint yoke / flange on a Dana is about an inch closer to the transmission,   therefore the driveshaft is about an inch shorter.

4 speed dana shafts are few and far between....  and probably bent.    And Plymouth and Dodge shafts are also different due to the 1 inch difference in wheelbase.

I've posted a page from the gtx / road runner / charger resto book with driveshaft lengths on it before...  having trouble finding it right now.

No, from c/c axles to c/c yoke 8 3/4 has 12.35" and the Dana has 13.47"

Congrats

Rear brakes all interchange... go for it.   Generally cars with front disks got the 10" rears as opposed to the drum cars that got 11" all around.

meanwhile check ebay for pinion snubber... http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=pinion+snubber+dana&_sacat=6028&_odkw=pinion+snubber&_osacat=6028&bkBtn=&_trksid=p4506.m270.l1313
