What color for 1968 727 trans?

Bought rebuilt tranny for my 68 charger.  What color would a BB 727 come out of the factory in 1968?  Thanks for the help.

i think it was just the natural metal color

If you want it to look nice do what I did, get the grinder and a fine bristle wire wheel and polish that baby right up

I agree. I did the same thing with my tranny, the sad part about it is that it does not last if you don't coat it with something clear. My uncoated 727 sitting in the garage waiting for the Charger, lost it's shine.

I paint mine with Krylon Dull Aluminum, it doesn't look like the natural finish but it comes close.

Mine was a blue colour. It was a bit lighter than this (i'm hoping this will fade over time)

I found a picture of mine. It's still shiny but not us much as I had it originally.
