How come there's Star of David on Dodge Brothers emblem? Were they Jewish?

Does it matter if they were?

I'm of Jewish decent.  Does that matter?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Nope, not at all. Just curious that's all
Found some interesting info about it....

"My grandfather, a Jew who came to the USA at age 10 from Moscow, Russia, always drove Dodge cars until he got a 1955 Olds Super 88.

He told me the reason for the Dodge link to the 6 pointed star (Jewish) star was that the Dodge Brothers were lent money by a Jewish money lender who made it a condition of the loan that they put the star of David in blue and white (Jewish colors as well as the colors of Israel today) on the cars for a specified period of time.

My grandpa died at age 95 in about1974, so his knowedge of cars went back to the inception of the automobile.

I hope this is accurate and of value to you.

It would absolutely matter!  Since I'm of Arab decent it would mean I would feel compelled to blow up my Charger! :smilielol:

Of course it wouldn't matter.  But, maybe it would explain their split with Henry.    :shruggy:

I thought the Dodge Brothers got their money by first building a lot of Ford's T engines and then selling all their Ford stock.  Maybe it's just two triangles because their were two brothers?  Maybe they just like the shape?  Maybe they knew Ford was an anti-Semite and it was a poke at him?  Maybe all or none of those?

I think they had already in the process of splitting with Henry as the 1st round of "henrys new car co" had cost a lot of investors heavily including the Dodge Bros before he started FoMoCo ,( from the autobiography)

Interesting possible link with the Jewish financiers, hadnt considered that before, but the manufacturers ( all of the smaller ones ) would've needed access to larger amounts of capital than the traditional lending institutions could/would supply I guess

I have one of those repop tin signs in my garage along with other Mopar related stuff

The Dodge Bros had their own machine and buggy shop years before the automobile was around,. They built buggys and bicycle stuff.   They did early machine work for Ford in the very beginning of Fords days.

Upon reading the Allpar stuff about the logo   it says it was last used in 1938.   My 1947 Dodge still has the original Dodge Bros logo on its serial# tag inside the door jam.
