Lots of 2010 Challengers For Sale

Looking around on E-bay and I see that there are a total of 71 Challengers (2010) for sale. Seems like a ton to me. It includes a Hennesey, a Hurst, a Norms, and 2 Saleen Challengers at what look like nice discounts. And 2 Mopar 10s just ended.

Is it the economy? Or are sellers actually tired of their rides?

People buy cars and change thier mind or can't afford the gas and insurance  all the time.

from the numbers I would say there are more happy Challenger owners than Camero and Mustang.

Of course there are also the people that by a new limited production $80K car and think its instantly work $200k and someone out there is dying to buy it off them.

Everyone I know is keeping them...the guys selling are either getting married, having kids, or were brand-xers who started to see the light and couldn't handle it.  We aren't really in a "huge" market, but that is the trend I see.

For every 1 person in the club that has hated their late model Chally (and there has been one, lol)...there are about 70 or so of us that like them    I really think he had a lemon...getting rear ended probably didn't help the vibe, but aside from that everyone has been very happy.

That does seem like a large number though...likely dealers, probably just figure they can move the car for a higher price as opposed to a local sale etc.  Likely proportional to other similar cars.

From experience I can tell you they are extremely nice to drive with very good milage , I assume it is the time of year + economic influences that they are being unloaded

Puts me to mind of when I bought my Challenger. Too many salesmen touting their "uniqueness" and boosting the price based on their "scarceness".
I'd say "buddy, this ain't no investment. It's a car to drive, quit the bullshit".

Fact is, I could paint a magenta stripe on my Challenger, print off some vinyl letters that say "Butthead Edition" and slather them all over my car and try to say it's "1 of 1"....then ask stupid money for it.

Look at the old Musclecars. I don't give a rats ass if it's a "Dan Gurney" or Cale Yarbourough" or "Bengal" or "Pierre Cardin"....it's still going to be expensive to restore, and all those decals aren't going to make it faster.

I do know I am seeing a lot of Challengers at the auctions as bank repos. I watched a 2010 blue Challenger RT with the 5.7, 3000 miles go through last week for $24,000.00.

Which brings up another interesting point.
Mustang has always been the sales leader in that segment, so much so that I dont know if its results can even be considered a bellweather for it.  Not unlike Chrysler with the minivan?  They are (and usually have been) a mcuh less expensive choice for a ponycar.

That's the reason for my question: there seems to be a disproportionante number of Challengers for sale.

And no obvious reason since it is the same economy for all cars, not just Mopar.

Thread only addressed the 2010 model year and the "point in time" number of cars listed on ebay based on units sold.

By far Camero has the most compared to units sold and Mustang has the least.

Looking at the production numbers over the 2008 to 2010 model years you can see that more Challengers are selling each year and Mustangs are on the decline.

Do you know the production #s for 09 Challengers.  and were I can find a break down of RT, SRT, and 6cyl.  I was told RT had the highest production followed by SRT8 and the 6cyl cars were the rarest in 09.  I would like to veryfy that.

By volume it seems like a lot to be 1-4 yr old cars to be 5-8k from new prices compared to other 4-5 yr old non perf cars, Are they selling there?  I have surfing and thinking towards my next "new/newer" car as the 392 or Hennesey (or off topic 08 blue SRT8 wagon, they are to high still, but 1of 200something cars).  At those prices not that far from older vipers or across the fence Z06?  Seems with all the "upgrade" stuff might as well buy new.  So why are they holding their value with still that many out there?
