What is a good paint to use for headers?  No ceramic coating, jet-hot, or something that needs to be baked on. I just need a simple paint that I can apply that will hold up well. Silver or black. Thanks.

Autozone has header paint, I think its dupli-color or something. I used it to paint the exhaust manifolds on my diesel, it's been holding up good for about a year now.

Best high temp paint I've found is John Deere Muffler Black.  If you have a Deere dealer around go there and get some.

Second best thing I've used (next to Jet Hot) is the Eastwood hi-temp manifold/header coating.

We just used some header paint from NAPA and then picked up some cans from ACE Hardware of gloss black for High temp Grills.
Here's a picture from last night of the old header next to the new one with a few coats of paint!   :icon_smile_big: :2thumbs:

The best 'low buck' paint I have ever used on headers is Krylon paint for stoves/grilles. It is a satin black and holds up pretty decent, I painted a set of headers and after a couple of years still looked pretty good, got a little chalky looking but where still black. Its under 5 bucks a can at Wally World.
