Anyone wearout a mini starter?

I have abiut 23K miles on the 446 and it still starts it  fine. I am going to take the headers of this winter and was debating changing out the starter?

UFO

Don't fix it if it ain't broke.
The one you put in might be a dud.

I got 143,000 miles on the OE mini starter in my 94 Dakota...does that count?

If it aint broke dont fix it.

the only problem I have seen with the mini is the two contacts wear in the solinoid , you can get new contacts for about $4 at a rebuilder & install them in minutes , to get to them there is 3 - 6 or 7mm screws on the end cap , remove that & you can check the contacts to see how worn they are

I will check  out the contacts for sure. Sounds like the starter is pretty dependable , I will reuse it.

Thanks for the replys.
