Air compressor tank volume?

I scored a new to me compressor last week for free, spent the weekend cleaning it up and painting it.
A Curtis C96 that puts out 18.2 cfm at 175 psi.
It's sitting on a 65 gallon tank and I have an extra 60 gallon tank if I need it but that's my question.
Will I need the extra volume of another tank?
I plan on getting a blast cabinet eventually so if i need the extra tank I might as well set it up now even though I limited on space.

The more air the better.   When I did my 71 project I had 2 compressors hooked together with about 50gals of air and there were times they were right at the edge. They had enough pump to keep up but if it was me and you got the room I would plumb the other tank in.

I still need to find a 5hp motor for it but temporarily, I hooked up a 1 1/2hp and fired it up.
It runs great except that it builds pressure in the crankcase and eventually starts blowing air out the breather really loudly.
At first I thought the rings may be shot but then I realized that there is no check valve at the tank.
This is the way it was piped before I got it so I'm confused, is it suppose to have a check valve on the discharge pipe into the tank?
