Is it me or does any one else not mind the smell of burnt rubber and fuel in the garage. My wife knows when I have had the car out to play. I miss having my out building I once had I could hide in it. I may be odd but I like the smell while at my work bench drinking a cold beer admiring my car.

I used to do burn outs in my basement on my HD. Whole house filled with smoke and smell. Didn't mind it at all.
I drank a lot back then.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

skip68

I think that's 100% normal for any car guy.

My wife doesn't mind the car smell all that much, it just adds to the many things she finds annoying with me :smilielol: :nana:

I dont mind the car smell with the exception of one occasion. We lived in Tennessee and Chuck screwed up (i know, shocker!  :smilielol:  :nana: ) working on the tranny. The car puked burnt tranny fluid ALL OVER. Looked like a red crime scene, and smelt even worse. The garage was under the house, so the smells had no where to go but up inside! Yuck!  :eek2: Mrs.skip68

I guess I have another car related smell I like as well. When I wash all my shop towels and get them out of the dryer the ones that were used for waxing smell good also.

Oh now we are going in a different direction. I have them to but the car things just remind me of my younger years when cars were my main interest and I didn't have lifes problems and responsibilities.

My wife loves the "old car exhaust" smell. I like racing fuel.
My buddy and me always joke about starting a line of air fresheners for men.  How about "Essence of Goodyear" or "Slightly Rich Big Block". My other favorites would be "Roasted Garlic" and "Porterhouse Steak on the Grill".
And instead of "Fresh Linen" scented candles from Yankee Candles we can do "Fresh Wax Rag" for 67440chrg.

When I spill gasoline on myself and my wife complains, I just say that it is my new cologne called "Octane 93"!  she doesnt think its too funny though!
