Who is really surprised by this?  People within the White House get the Ford ad pulled.

Way to go Ford for standing up to the administration.  :ohhthesarcasm:

Not surprised at all.   I never even saw one of the ads on TV - did anyone else?

Ford took the 'cash for clunkers' money though.......right?

That whole system was an auto manufacturer bail out.

the whole cash for clunkers was  stupid , and they should have at least made it only good if you bought a Ford , GM , or Chrysler product to stimulate our economy and keep the dollars at home .
Plus alot of good cars that where paid for got crushed , now people that bought those new cars and couldnt really afford them have all had them repo's and have nothing . Just like our screwed up housing and mortgage situation .
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

For good or bad, IMO, it was union bail out.   Otherwise, someone would have been left for dead.

Cash for clunkers was one really bad idea.  It didn't do anything except spend money.  It didn't generate new business, it just pulled sales forward.  Those who purchased would have purchased next month or the month after.

It didn't get polluting gas hogs off the road.  But, it did end-of-life allot of worn out Explorers and Caravans (outside of 4x4 trucks are/were there really any out there? They made it sound like there were 20 million 1975 Monacos on the road)

It also didn't create a shortage of used cars (for which it gets blamed/credited).  The "credit crises" ending low cost leases on new vehicles and drying up the secondary lending market did that.   :Twocents:
