Anybody know how to drop the gas tank off a '76 Power Wagon?  I don't see how I can without taking off the bed.

I had a '78,should be the same.Undo the straps from underneath.Actually before that unscrew the filler and vent tube first.
Removing the driveshaft will give you a lot more room.

UFO, one end of the strap is bolted to the frame which I can't get the nut while the tank is in place.  The other end has a slit type locking system.  Are the tops supposed to twist to line up with the slits?

Here's what I had.
The end with the brackets goes to the crossmembers.
