I know the A body 4-speeds (well, just the tail housing) were shorter than B/E body but are the automatics the same? Specifically, is a 70 or 71 A body small block 727 the same as the B/E body? I believe they are but I've made assumptions before and lost money because I got the wrong stuff.

All A B and E body 727's are the same length - regardless of engine size

Troy

Thought so. Thanks!

I have a couple later (78?) 727s and they also look the same. One came from an Aspen (whatever body that is). I assume they are the same dimensions as well? I believe they have a lockup converter and a different type of switch but I thought they were the same dimensionally.

careful, the 360 auto trans's are different..basically the torque converter with the counter weight on it

Troy

Don't have any converters so that's not an issue. :D
