I'm debating on which tranny to go with in my 68. I'm going to have a 440 with A/C. The options that I'm debating on are a 4speed or an A518 overdrive.

My question is will I have any problems if I go with a 4speed with AC? If I remember right A/C wasnt an option with a 440 and a 4 speed.

4 Speed! Way more fun. My old gold 68 was an air ca and I installed a 440 4 speed. Who cares if it weren't available back then. It is now!

Darn good point.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

4-speed hands down...that 518 trans will require major cutting just to get it in the car.

I'd go with a manual box for the fun factor but, if you have the money, go for a 5-speed from Passon or Keisler. You'll have to modify the floor for any of them.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
