34, got it off of e-bay for $7100.00, drove it home from Utah to Oregon with no major problems, then it broke down the next day on the way to the DMV.

After giving it a full tune up on the side of the road, a mopar guy came along and said, "it's probably the ballast resister" (which I'd never heard of)........and sure enough, it was!   :icon_smile_big:

I was 15 when I bought this base model 383 '70 Charger for $400 or $500 (can't quite remember). Later I bought a '68 R/T when I was 18 or 19 but I didn't own it very long. I had the '70 for 11 years.

I was 22, we bought it in October 1986.
We used it as a family car/daily driver until the fall of 1991. I wasn't gonna drive it through another Utah winter. This pic was taken a few days after we bought it. BTW, that mark on the front fender is what was left of the double-sided tape from those dumb "door ding strips" that were popular in the 70's. It took me many hours to get the rest of that off the car.

It even had fake sheepskin seat covers & a sparkly turquoise steering wheel. :icon_smile_big: That's a ketchup stain on the right seat, compliments of my offspring.

Some interior items changed shortly afterward, to something a bit more acceptable for the time. The A/C used to work fantastic...it would easily turn you into a human popsicle in about 15 minutes. As a result, I usually just drove with the windows down.

Although it's no real beauty, it's been my garage queen for the most part, since late 1993...

However, once a year, it takes a trip to the end of the driveway to stretch it's legs. :) One day it will drive around the block, then the next day it will drive to...

Which reminds me, it's about time for it's annual trip to the end of the driveway & required bath. I think I'll warm up the camera batteries. :icon_smile_cool:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I like that Blue Charger.
Hey....that green Pinto Runabout...... You know why they called them that? Its because they would Run about a year or so, then break down.

Age 18 in 1994.  I worked for a year at McDonald's to save $2K.  My mom pitched in an extra $500 and one day, driving by a church, I saw a '69 Charger for sale.  Later that week the car was mine, and the rest is history...

Year was '86, I was 16 and was saving $$$ for years for a Charger. I got my '68 as my first car with a little help from Mom & Dad as well.

The date was July 26, 1983 and I was 16 years old (28 years ago yesterday).  I bought my 1969 Charger R/T, 440, 4-speed car.  I put an ad in the local newspaper looking for a 69 Charger with a 440 engine.  I got two phone calls.  One for the car I have now and one for an automatic car for $300.00.  I wish I had bought both.  I paid $1700.00 for the one I bought in 1983.

Got my first '66 the winter of my senior year of high school (1988) for $150 it was sitting in a field for lots of years.  Silver with white interior, suck 361 2bbl and A/C, after graduation I spent all my graduation money getting it road worthy.  Bought a fresh rebuilt 440 from my brother for $400 because he needed the money for a new rifle.  Drove that car for a year, then blew a brake line and smashed it.
Bought my current '66 in '90 for $170, it hadn't been licenced since around '76, had a stuck 318 poly and missing lots of parts.  Transferred all the good parts, motor and trans out of the silver car into this one and as they say the rest is history...

Twenty years old and one day home from Vietnam.  I found a used, red 66, 383 four speed in the local paper.   Drove it for about a year.  Sold it to get married.  Twenty three years later, in a mid life crisis, I went looking for another.  It sort of got out of control.

1st charger was about 1980-81 time frame , so age wise would have me at about 21 or 22

1970 Charger  FY1 black int ,  383 console auto, paid a whopping $150 for it and drove it home.

And technically, I still have it ,,most of it anyway .
