I was 17 and just graduated high school, and needed a car,I checked the papers for a few weeks. I went and looked at
a 65 Ranchero for $350, thats all I had, it wasn't bad 289 with a 4 speed.I just couldn't see myself in a Ford.
I went and looked at a 67 Charger for $350, it needed work of course, but I did buy it. It was Green with a gold int.
auto on the column, with a buddy seat, and a 318 2 bbl. Had it forabout a year, then traded it in on something else.
I needed more reliable transportation.

Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

I bought an extremely good shape all original plum crazy purple 70 Charger RT/SE with NO engine or transmission when I was 22 or so. It was together and complete, white interior, PW, tic-toc-tac, all it needed was an engine and transmission. I paid $350 for it.

I'm betting I won't see that kind of deal again!

22 give or take. It  was a 69 B-5 Charger SE for $350. I also had tried to buy a Superbird at 17 though. Mom & Dad said no.  :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

25, was tired of "dreaming" of having an old school muscle car. sold a bunch of star wars toys and other geek stuff on ebay, had some minor savings and got myself a '73 Charger SE with a 400.

since then, I sold that one and got a '69.

sold that '69 and got another more complete (but I've had to rebuild pretty much the entire mechanical part of it) '69.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I bought mine in Ottawa when I was 22.  I drove her home that day to NJ following my father.  At around 8pm-9pm my headlight switch burnt out in the middle of the Poconos and I lost all illumination in and out (not much for streetlights on I-380 there).  I followed close behind my father for the last hour home.  3 1/2 tanks of gas and she got home in one piece.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.  ~A. Einstein
