This past Saturday I hosted a tech day at my house.  I've been throwing these "wrench turning parties" about 4 times a year for about 8 years now.  This time around some of the attention was focused on my 1971 Charger project.  We worked on removing the engine, transmission, K-frame and the front suspension from the car.  After doing some research, I decided to use the "remove the whole thing from underneath" method.
You might also notice that there's a lot of younger folk in the pics, which is a good thing...I like to mix up the different enthusiast groups which I hang out with...makes for more unity in the car enthusiast community and breaks down barriers/cliquish approaches by people in the hobby.  Anyway, here's some pics of the day's efforts:

So now that the engine/trans/suspension has been removed, the next step will be to send the car to my friend Moti at Blackbird Fabworx (http://blackbirdfabworx.com).  He's an expert welder who's going to help me install the Reilly Motorsports Alterkation (front) and Street Lynx (rear) suspension.  Then he's going to seam weld the car, stiffen the chassis, and build a custom rollcage for it...

Nice im doing the RMS setup all around too, great choice. I never thought about welding the seems tho, sounds like a good idea.

Mr.Woolery

Yeah, we're planning to seam weld it as well as build up the rockers.  The cage will incorporate a removeable harness bar/diagonal bracing so the car can be easily converted between street and track duty.  We'll also be building a tow package into the cage setup.   :smilielol:

wow! how many people does it take! wish i had that much help!  :2thumbs: looks good!
I'm Bored! what to do next......

Mr.Woolery

What you don't see in the pics are the dozen or so other cars at the event getting worked on, too.  All the guys looking on are taking time out from their projects to watch and/or help with mine.

I'll pass on your compliments!

This group of people is pretty dynamic and has, in their own way, influenced aspects of our local and internet car culture already.  One of the guys who's part of this group was an amateru car photographer who's since gone professional and now works full time for Speedhunters.  He now travels the world covering all sorts of car stuff.
