WHOOAAH!

He only paid you 500$ for it??? The damn tail lights and headlights alone are worth nearly 1k! He said BIN was $1,100 so i imagine he got it for less.

Why didnt you make it known on the forum?? Honestly i would have bought the damn thing and put it away until i had the chance to fix her up.

NHCharger

Frank, no the guy will make a $500 profit on it. I did offer Eric some money for it but I just blew my Charger wad at Carlisle. Eric is a poor college student right now and needs every penny he can scrape up. We talked about putting it up for sale here or on C/L. And yes I would have parted it out also and traded a guy for parts for my 68. Eric could have made more money parting it like you mentioned but the car is 40 miles from his house and he went back to college this weekend. He did the right thing by putting this behind him before he went back to college. Plus he really wanted to restore that car so parting it out would have been painful for him to do.

I told him he had his priorities in order.
1. Education
2. Charger
3. Girlfriend

Also when Eric told me he sold the Charger he said it was to a guy that teaches auto shop in high school. It sounded to me that the way this guy talked was that he was going to use this car in shop class or use some of the parts on a car they were working on. Maybe I misunderstood what was said.

Sorry to hear the news but you have a lifetime to find another starting point.  This car is still your first Charger and you gained a ton from owning it.  I too have a '72 318/904 car.  But this is my first project so I'm trying to learn what I can from working on this car so I will have the skills and knowledge to put time and money in a more valuable/desirable car later on.  You did the right thing, and should have no regrets about any decisions.  Stick around man.

You did what you had to do Eric, don't look back. Nothing that's meant for you will ever pass you by.
I bought an 80 D100 pickup for 350.00, spent 4 years in storage @ 25 a mo. and 280.00 for title work. Day of reckoning came when storage jumped to 40 per mo. and my son (Who I kinda bought it for to fix up.) admitted car-less but going to collage was a better plan. 5+ years of storage payments are not an option for you and as a dad myself, I support your decision regardless of the outcome from who you sold it too and what they do.
Think of it this way, you saved that car, it may yet be restored.   :2thumbs:
You showed us a remarkable determination and effort for a young gun growing up and we saw you learn as you grew. Your future is priceless and far more important right now.

Just like my Plymouth. Flipped twice in two mos. and the box of parts needed to complete it - in the trunk (black carpet floor pan antenna and plastic seat hinge cover and an extra carb.) never made it to Germany. The current owner now needs them all.   :shruggy:  :flame:
