couple pics from the past week

passenger side of 1/4 had seriously 3/4 of a inch thick of bondo covering the entire 1/4 and driver side had the same except was 1 inch thick, also the idiot that did the body work on the car noticed that the trunk lid sits low on pass. side and hammered in the top of the 1/4 to match the height instead of putting a rubber stop in...  :brickwall:

You are making great progress...  keep the faith!   Awesome to see another 'resurrection' of such a classic car!  GREAT JOB!   GOD Bless!

GT

Nice progress - keep posting updates!

I think you should just piss everyone off - paint it green with a black "69" on the door and call it the "General Weenie"  :D

Looking great!  Love to see continual progress!  If only I could see that type of progress in my own garage!   :icon_smile_big:

Summers are very busy with the RV Rental Business we have as well as my full time job.  Sadly not much work gets done on the Charger between April & September...

ChargerD100

going to pick up my paint Y3 and front window gasket today, finished product will look kinda like OldGuy's '68 but with black hood and no vinyl top, possibly a '65 Hemi scoop if I can get ahold of one and a fiberglass hood for a reasonable price so I dont have to hurt my good metal hood.

If you do decide you want a blower sticking out of the hood don't cut your original hood. Buy a fiberglass hood. I think you can get one with the scoop you're talking about. You never know when you will change your mind. I made this mistake before and it ended up costing me $$$$$$. Good luck.

ChargerD100

thanks guys, yeah bill im looking at fiberglass hoods, cuz my hood is in great condition

Its a great find . Its your car and your business and if your intend to keep the car for a long time then go whatever route you want . My opinion is that there are way too many GLs out there now and they are never noticed at a car show ...people just walk on by .  If you ever sell , be prepared to get maybe only 1/3 of what you would get if you were going to bring it back as close to original as possible. Thats just my opinion. I hate scoops , non original interior , big blue plug wires , weird wheels etc etc etc .
But its your car and your money  and Good luck on what ever way you build it .

Honestly, you've got a 69 Charger so that's the important part. I'm personally more turned off by junk sticking out of the hood than General Lee paint and decals (plus, it's cheaper and it sounds like you're on a budget). Have fun with it!

Troy

Agreed! A cut-up hood w/ junk sticking out of the hood, or some lame hood scoop is far worse than decals and a flag  :Twocents:

I wonder how many of the 1969 Chargers have been brought home, only to have the doors "rattle can" sprayed w/ "01"  :popcrn:

ChargerD100

Not too much of an update but, recently ordered my wheels the new reissue American Racing Vectors (and no its not gunna be a general its just my little tribute to it), also snagged a camaro front spoiler from my brother-in-laws dad. We are in the middle of looking for a house with a shop so i can actually tear the car down how i want to and not have parts strung across the yard getting more ruined
