does anyone have a pic of a small block with an Edelbrock intake and carb?

id like to see how your throttle and kickdown linkage is hooked up.

John_Kunkel

Do you have the correct Mopar throttle lever extension (Edelbrock #1481) for that Edelbrock? If so, it hooks up like the original carb did.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

drifter69

Yep......that what I did on another car and it hooks up like factory.

Did you change your intake manifold?  If you did and went to high rise, kickdown will need some modifying.

so the stock throttle cable connects to part#1481 and that connects to the existing carb linkage? any pics?

Since your stock 2bbl carb was a skinny little guy, your linkage probably won't line up with the wider 4bbl carb.  I'm not saying this is the best way but this is what I did.

Pic 1 is just the stock setup.
Pic 2 shows the adjustments I had to make.  You will probably not have to extend the "U" bracket since you still have a low profile manifold, but to hit the throttle on the carb it will most likely have to be twisted.  I found that the kickdown has to come out (cause carb is wider) and forward (cause throttle on 4bbl carb is farther toward the front).  That's why I added ~2 inches to the kickdown arm.
Pic 3 is just to show how it lines up now.  Also, I had to cut out the support bracket that attaches to the manifold because of the larger runners.  Not sure about the RPM manifold runner size.

I've never seen anyone else do it like this but then again, no one ever shares how to make stuff work on small blocks.  Hope this helps with some ideas.
