Hello all,

I just wanted to mention my father retired today after 36 years of service as a police officer in our town. He has been the Chief of Police for the past 3 years and Deputy Chief since before I can remember.  The man has been my idol, who I have looked up to, and who I have attempted to model myself after, for the past 22 years of my life. He is the man who helped me purchase the Charger, who has helped me work on the Charger, and who has kept my record clean when I got into trouble with the Charger. He is the man of all men, my hero, my father. I thought he deserves a little publicity for what he has done for our town, which is why I am posting this here.

Here is a quick little vid of the officers giving him a farewell parade to my house. Hope you enjoy.

Thank you,

Tell him congradulations for me.
I always apreciate the service police officers and fireman do for the comunity. He definatly deserves a big thank you for his service.

Tell him I said thanks for the years service!  I laughed when you said about keeping you out of trouble in the charger...I can only imagine that story...  When I retire, I am going to take my charger downtown and lay a huge patch of rubber and ride off into the sunset!!!  Still have a few years to go though!

Tell your Dad congrats and to enjoy retirement! My Dad and Uncle are retired state and local police officers, amazing how many conversations in my 20's with them started with the phrase "you knuckle head" or "what were you thinkin?" I guess it plays into mplawdog's sig.

He is someone to be proud of! I hope he enjoys retirment. My son who is 26 is about done with his criminal justice degree and just started doing his internship with the local police department. He is looking at the beginning of a carreer in law enforcement.

Congrats to your Dad. I wonder if he would do it all over again if he had the choice?

Retirement is a great thing but, like all things, it does require some adjustments. Thank him for me for his service to the community as one of the dedicated employees for a hard job.  Congrats to him and now he will be busier than ever, it seems ! :yesnod:
