Hey guys,

I'm trying to put my old connector onto the wires that came with my tilt column. Ive been tracing them down in my book but Ive got a couple wires that I'm not sure of.

From what Ive figured out, the original plug wires are as follows;

Light green goes to the left turn signal

Red goes to the turn signal flasher...?

Tan goes to right turn signal

Black goes to the main harness on the firewall...?

Dark green goes to some plug labeled in the book as "to body wiring", which goes to the headlamp switch?

White goes to the stop lamp switch and the emergency flashers

Brown goes to goes to "body wiring" like dark green?

The wires I have for my new column go to the following according the instructions:

Left front turn signal
Right front turn signal
Hazard
Turn signal - Power (main)
Left rear turn signal
Right rear turn signal
Brake Light

I should have added more detail to my questions.
If black goes to the main harness on the firewall, would I be correct in assuming that is my "Turn signal - Power (main)"?
Also what does the plug labeled "to body wiring" mean? What is "body wiring"?
If the original white goes to stop lamps AND hazards, should I splice the 2 new wires together?

Electrical is my downfall in car restoration if you couldn't tell, haha.

Stock connections ----

Black - horn ground
Dk Grn - Rear left turn signal
Brown - Rear right turn signal
White - brake switch

Connection should go like this using the new harness labels

Left front turn signal- light green wire
Right front turn signal- tan  wire
Hazard - (dash has a switch for this so it is not needed in the column)
Turn signal - Power (main)- red wire
Left rear turn signal- dark green wire
Right rear turn signal- brown wire
Brake Light- white wire

make sure of your wire connections at least 3 times.....you do not want to let the smoke out

the white smoke is what makes things work

Finn
