Been a member for a while, reading and asking questions.  Thought it time to post progress.
'72 purchased new by my father.  Stored in barn for 19 years - used as mouse habitat for most of it.   :brickwall:

Getting into it

Peters02

Lots of scraping and many chemical burns later...

Peters02

Metal work done and primed...

Peters02

Ready to roll back into the bay for another year....

Peters02

Putting it back together - first steps

Peters02

Next steps...

Peters02

And more..nice to be working on something clean for a change

Peters02

Moving on from the engine bay to the interior....

Peters02

Last interior shot - gotta get one of it finished (sans the ashtray door - paint issue.... :shruggy:)

And now the engine....

First time in the sun AND moving under its own power.
Still a long ways to go, but progress is what it is....

That looks great. I'm kind of wondering how do painters keep from getting over-spray on on that beautiful work when the body gets painted.

Thanks for the support.
As far as the painting - I'd suggest all buy stock in tape manufacturers 'cause I am going to tape that thing tighter than a ducks butt - top and bottom.

Awesome job.   Your really going to the extreme on this, and it'll be worth it!   Keep the thread updated as progress goes on.

Have you painted before?
My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

JUNKTRAVELER: all I've seen in this thread is a bunch of bullies and 3 guys that actually give a crap.

Peters02

I have not painted before.  I am painting all the bits and pieces, but am leaving the body to the professionals...I already get the stink eye at for paint fumes in the house - I can't imagine what would be said if I tried to paint this whole thing in the garage.

chargd72

Great looking car, man.  Is that '71's GY9?  That's the color going onto my '72, eventually.  Where did you get the paint?
