Ive got a problem and I would like advise. I have been buying cars and collecting them since I was 16. Im 18 now and I don't know if I should sell off a few so I can get a 69 charger to build a general lee. I have a 79 gold trans am with t tops and a 403. I just built the motor and put it back in. I have a 77 firebird that is all original. Over winter I bought a 74 corvette stingray. and I just got done with the restoration on my 72 ford f100 pickup. I just dont know if I should hold on to them or let them go to have a charger. they are all drivers and I enjoy them but id like a 69 charger. Can I get anyone's opinion. Thanks, Donnie :shruggy:

I say if thats the car you want, then sell em and buy one. What good are cars that you kinda enjoy, but would rather have one you truly enjoy?

Enough of the "F" and the "C" words.
Go the D word man, you'll love it

I'd boil it down to these two questions:

#1, can you get a DECENT 1969 Charger for the money that the other stuff would bring in?  If you're going from several assembled decent cars to one project Charger that still needs a thousand hours in the shop then I wouldn't do it.  Keep saving your money a while longer before going after a Charger in that situation.

And #2, What do these other cars mean to you?  Do you individually love all these different cars?  Or are they all just cars that were good deals at the time you bought them, and if you didn't find another great deal on that make/model then you wouldn't ever put much effort into getting another one like it?  Some guys buy cars because they specifically love each one, other guys buy cars because they kinda like each one and they found a deal on it.

Hey Donnie,
Frank and Mike have salient points. I'm not sure where Doc's coming from, its prolly that down under ganga he won't share.  :D Were it me I'd keep the truck.......gotta have a truck. But I'd sell everything else and buy a finished GL and drive it, enjoy it and be happy with the decision. Good luck.

One thing I'm learning really quickly is that D cost a LOT more than C and F....

Keep the truck, sell the junk, buy a Charger, and build something original (not a GL).

Thats what i was thinking... Can you sell off all the cars you have now and come up with $20,000 total?   If so i would do just that and buy Mikes GL in Maine that bakerhillpins posted for you...   :Twocents:
