what you read... which is the best option ? working on porting heads and with 850 cfms carb, makes noting on stock air filters I think

You mean just changing the filter element? Im sure it will help, but depending on how you drive you may never see it. If your looking for a "seat of your pants" difference i dont think its gonna happen, on the 1/4 mile it will help breathe on the top end so im sure you will see a difference but nothing that your really going to "feel" on the bottom end of things.

If you just want a performance filter, most use K&N with good luck.

Is it very dusty in Venezuela? If it is, i might just run a paper element and call it good...remember those "performance" filters breathe better but let it a bit more than your std paper will.

I don't mean to "seat of my pants filter", just a better option than the stock paper piece

well I have known stock filters are barelly on 300 cfms rate, so, why to fit 850 cfms carb if filter element is 300 cfms ?

think would just stick with a oem type paper one !! K& N filters are  good & do offer better breathing = more power !  , but to me can't do better filtration job than paper , look at both side by side close up when you have just cleaned a K& N filter & before oiling up !!  :Twocents:

K&N's also let in more dirt and they only flow a little better that a clean paper filter. So to me, if I am keeping stuff out that will kill my engine, I do not mind loosing a HP or 2.
