Does anyone here have their car(s) insured by Classic Auto Insurance? We currently use Hagerty's but we can save almost a C note going with Classic over Hagerty for an identical policy with "agreed upon value" and like that. Sounds good to save a bit of cash but I know nothing about this company. Opinions gang? Thanks

I use Grundy, they were recommended by my mechanic who has 4 classic Vettes.  I got a quote from them and Hagarty and they beat Hagarty on price also.  I pay ~$220/year.

I'll be watching this thread.  I'd like to compare what I'm paying with Hagerty.

The only reason I use them is my collision repair buddy (daytonakid) says it's a piece of cake dealing with them.
As far he was concerned, the best insurance co. out there.   :shruggy:

Sorry Tom, I use American Collectors. Not heard of Classic.

Watch for mileage restrictions on those policies. In Ontario Canada www.CIBI.ca is a good broker for classic cars without any restrictions

Hagerty has never once asked me for a milage statement. I have never had a claim but heard they are easy to deal with. Ask alot of questions before you sign up.

I've had Grundy for years.

This spring when my policy was up for renewal I got quotes from all the popular carriers.
Hagerty was the most expensive.
Grundy and American Collectors were within one dollar of each other so I stayed with Grundy

How good is Grundy to deal with on a claim?
Don't know, never had one.

I don't have to supply Grundy with mileage statements either, but there are obviously restrictions, it's classic car insurance afterall.  If I don't want restrictions I'd be paying > $1K/year for regular car insurance on a car like this.  The restrictions are within what I intend to do with her, so I'm fine with it.  There's a cruise just about every day/night somewhere in NJ, so there really aren't any days I can't drive her.  I just don't drive her to work, and have to keep her under 5K/year I think, which is far more than I would put on her anyway per year.

Thanks Gents, I have to renew at month's end and have compared policy quotes with Grundy's, Hagerty's, Classic Auto Insurance but have not contacted American Collectors Insurance yet. So far all quotes have been very close except Classic which is $100 cheaper. This alone gives me pause for thought. I've had Hagerty for several years and I'll prolly do the same this year. If it sounds to good to be true..........
Appreciate the input.
